Nenad Medic Wins First Bracelet in WSOP 2008 1st Event
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008Canadian pro Nenad Medic defeated Andy Bloch during heads-up play to win his first WSOP bracelet in the first event of the 2008 World Series of Poker. For his troubles, Medic earned $794,112 for coming in first place in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em World Championship.
This is a pretty stunning achievement as the 2008 WSOP first final table showcased some of the most respected poker players in the world. Aside from Andy Bloch, Medic found himself facing Patrik Antonius, Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Kathy Liebert and Internet poker legend Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers. After nine hours of final table play, Medic came out ahead.
