In another step aimed towards according poker players an opportunity to play alongside some of the best in the world and compete for the $10 million first prize at the World Series of Poker, Bodog Poker is now guaranteeing 40 seats to the main WSOP event every single weekend.
"With a record 700 Bodog players being qualified to the WSOP, the reaction from our players and the poker industry as a whole has been nothing short of spectacular," says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog, and host of the Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker weekly television series. "We want to ensure that our players are given every single opportunity to compete against the poker greats, and by having a new qualifier every 20 minutes during the weekends, we are well on our way to achieving this."
Bodog poker players will be able to qualify via any of the 30 tournaments on Saturdays, or 10 tournaments on Sundays, with the buy-ins ranging from $67.50 to $270. There are a number of other ways for WSOP hopefuls to qualify for the big show with Bodog. Players can compete in Bodog’s WSOP Stages tournaments for as little as $1.10. Each Stage tournament awards the winner with entry to the next Stage until Stage 5 when a WSOP seat is awarded.
Bodog players who qualify for the Main Event this year will be accorded a prize package that includes a $10,000 tournament buy-in, $2,500 in travel expenses, access to the WSOP VIP Lounge and $1,000 worth of Bodog gear.
Last year, Bodog guaranteed its online poker players over 70 seats at the WSOP, a Las Vegas-based series of tournaments held over the course of six weeks. This year, Bodog is qualifying over 10 times that amount of players for preliminary and main WSOP events.
With aggressive tournament schedules and an array of bonus programs, Bodog Poker continues to lead the industry with its multitude of products. Bodog.com Poker offers US $2.5 million in guara ntees each month, including a weekly US $100,000 tournament, held each Sunday.
