Four online poker pros, a poker legend and a hometown hero sat down to play for the first-place prize of $1,387,224 CAD ($1.47 million USD) WPT North American Poker Championship over the weekend.
Heading into play, the top-two chip counts belonged to online poker pros Scott “BigRiskky” Clements and, our hometown hero, Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little, and the day would end with those two going heads-up for the title.
After a marathon three-handed battle with native son David Cloutier that helped to set a record for the most hands at a WPT final table, the two former WPT champions only played for 14 hands before Little fell victim to Clements trip fives. This is actually the second WPT tournament win for Clements at this casino, he took down the WPT Canadian Open here last year. The pair of World Poker Tour wins will go nicely with his two World Series of Poker bracelets, one from each of the past years.
Here are the full final table results and payouts (in USD):
1. Scott “BigRiskky” Clements - $1,456,585
2. Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little - $714,905
3. David Cloutier - $372,772
4. Barry Greenstein - $306,388
5. Kofi “redsoxsox” Farkye - $229,791
6. Jeff “ActionJeff” Garza - $178,727
