PARIS–(MARKET WIRE)–Jun 29, 2006 — As the prestigious World Poker Tour (WPT) Grand Prix de Paris came to a close on 16 June, PokerRoom.com’s Jim Davenport successfully finished in 22nd place out of 232 players winning a total of $ 16,500. Held at the famed Aviation Club in Paris, this was Davenport’s first time competing in an overseas tournament, and his best showing since he landed PokerRoom.com’s "Poker Pro" for a year endorsement in March 2006.

Twenty-six year old Davenport of Newport Beach, CA, was awarded an exclusive $ 250,000 PokerRoom.com endorsement deal, and has since played in a couple of major tournaments, including other WPT events. In addition to his "Poker Pro" deal, Jim is part of Team PokerRoom.com, a group of over a hundred up-and-coming poker players who represent PokerRoom.com in some of the world’s foremost poker tournaments. The next major competition for Team PokerRoom.com is the World Series of Poker, scheduled for 28 July - 10 August 2006 at the Rio in Las Vegas.
