Empire Goes To Court Vs. Party Gaming

The BBC reported that Empire Poker has begun legal proceedings against former partner, Party Gaming, in Gibraltar high court.

The legal action follows Party Gaming’s move to separate its online poker system from that of its ’skins’. (see related story)

Skin sites such as Empire directed users to online poker operators, such as to Party Gaming’s Party Poker site, and were paid commission for doing so.

Empire has lost more than half its market value since it floated in June. (see story)

"The company is seeking substantial damages and injunctive relief from Party Gaming,’ Empire said on Tuesday.

However, a Party Gaming spokesman dismisses the lawsuit and has said the legal action by Empire could be considered as the first ‘pantomime’ of the season.
