The London (Poker) Open

London’s Old Billingsgate Market was the venue of the biggest and brightest poker tournament in the world, the first ever London Open, held on August 3-6, 2005. The tournament was spearheaded by the World Poker Exhange online poker site and Bravo Channel.

Celebrity poker enthusiasts and top poker pros made na appearance at thepokertables during the 4-day event to take a shot at the $2 million prize pool. These celebrities include Jennie Garth, Mimi Rogers, Richard Kind, Willie Garson, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Peter Facinelli.

The London Open was showcased as the first-ever lifestyle poker event. International stars in film, music, sports, and of course, the poker world all signed up for the tournament.

The event was not your average casino or studio televised tournament, but packaged as a unique lifestyle activities, charity components and extra services beyond anyone’s expectations.
